Mike Smith is a digital media executive, data scientist, and entrepreneur committed to creating greater transparency and opportunity in hiring. With a career spanning leadership roles at prominent media companies, Mike has worked at the intersection of technology, content, and analytics — building platforms that reach millions and developing data strategies that help organizations grow with integrity.

At Ascendr, Mike applies his expertise in data infrastructure and algorithmic systems to help companies recognize talent based on capability and performance. His vision is grounded in the belief that when hiring is informed by clear, structured insight, organizations make better decisions — and individuals are given a genuine chance to thrive.

Mike is currently completing his Ph.D. in Data Science. He is also leading a stealth team in the development of the Ascendr product, with plans for a public release later this year. He is also the founder of several ventures that use data to drive progress across industries, including media and logistics.

Based in New Jersey, Mike is a dedicated entrepreneur, husband, father, brother, and uncle. He believes in the power of measurement, visibility, and aligned action to improve outcomes in work and in life.
